~Cream Puff~

Alhamdulillah!! i made it (finally)...
my favorite pastry : CREAM PUFF..

FYI, cream puff version in Kelantan is a bit different than the original cream puff...
so, i have baked the fusion cream puff!! ^^

it is CUSTARD PUFF!!

here's the recipe:

~CREAM PUFF~

ingredients (bahan-bahan):

pastry-
200 ml margerine (200 ml majerin)
500 ml water (500 ml air)
250 g flour (250 g tepung)
6 eggs (6 biji telur)

filling-
1/2 tin of sweeten beverage creamer  (1/2 tin susu manis)
1 tin of condensed milk or fresh milk (1 tin susu cair atau susu cair)
1 cup of custard powder (1 cawan tepung kustard)

directions (cara-cara):

pastry-
1. boils the margerine and water together. turn off the heat.
didihkan majerin dan air. Tutup api.

2. add up the flour and mix it well with wooden laddle.
masukkan tepung dan gaul sebati dengan menggunakan senduk kayu.

3. then, put in the eggs.
kemudian masukkan telur. gaul.

4. pour the batter inside a piping bag.
masukkan adunan ke dalam beg piping.

5. Swirl the batter into a round mountain-like shape.
pipe kan adunan dengan membuat bentuk bulat seperti bukit.

6. then bake it for 15 - 20 minutes at 200 degree celcius until it turns golden.
kemudian, bakar pada 200 degree celcius selama 15 - 20 minutes sehingga kuning keemasan.

filling-
1. heat both milks. 
Panaskan susu.

2. mix it with custard powder.
masukkan tepung kustard

3. Let it boils and thicken (very thick).
biarkan didih dan menjadi sangat pekat.

4. Turn off the heat. Let it cool.
tutup api dan biarkan sejuk.

5. Put the filling into the pastry puff!
masukkan filling ke dalam puff pastry.

~Batang Burok~

A new recipe that I have learned from my Sarawakian’s friend. Neyna.
I love Batang Burok since I was a kid.
However, this Batang Burok has different taste than the ordinary Batang Burok which you buy in store.
This is Sarawak Batang Burok or some people might call it as Popia Sarawak (I guess^^)
It is very easy to be made but need some patience!!

~Batang Burok~

Bahan-bahan:

A-
1 cawan tepung kacang hijau (algappas or babas)
1 cawan gula (kisar sampai halus)
1 ½ cawan kacang (digoreng & dikisar sampai halus)
½ cawan susu tepung
(for those who don’t really like powdered milk, you can reduce it and vice versa)

B-
Popia
1 egg (as a glue)
minyak

Cara-cara:

A-
1.     1.  Goreng semua bahan A tanpa minyak dengan api perlahan sampai sebati dan naik bau. (jangan sampai hangus ye)
2.      2.  Letak tepi

B-
3.     1.  Potong popia menjadi 6 keping. (potong 2 dulu, then potong jadi 3 pulak. So, 1 keping popia, dpt 6 keping)
4.     2.  Then, gulung helaian popia yang dipotong dengan pen (besar) atau lebih baik straw cendol dan lekatkan hujung popia dengan telur.
**Tujuan buat camni supaye popia tu jadi cam batang dan nampak cantik.
5.     3.  Goreng popia sampai kekuningan.
6.     4. Masukkan popia yang digoreng ke dalam bahan A.
7.     5.  Gaulkan popia dengan bahan A sampai popia bersalut dengan bahan A.
**pastikan bahan A tadi masuk juga dalam gulungan popia tu.
8.     6.  Siap!!

~Chocolate Chip Cookies~

안녕!! How are you doing?? Wah!! It has been many days (i lost count^^) since my last post about bolognese pie. This week is money saving, bloated stomach and IFTAR everywhere week!! NICE!! i have not been in the kitchen this whole week. 


Finally, TODAY is the day!! Yay!! I went to the kitchen. Took out my porcelain bowl, all the ingredients that i had bought last week, whisker and biscuit moulds.

Let's make some cookies today!!

Then, i approached my lil bro, Solah.

Me: Baby, jom kite buat cookies nak? kite gune bende yg akak beli dengan baby aritu.^^ 

Baby:.......(silence, keeps on playing his PS2)

Then, next target, my eldest sis, K.Djah. Oh well, she's sleeping.

my last target, my youngest sis, Maryam. OMG, she is nowhere to be found. 

OK. I'll just do it myself. (Ala, selame nie pun buat sorang2 jugak^^)

So, at 11 a.m. this morning, i started my mission. 

~CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES~

Ingredients:

1 cups butter
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cups granulated sugar
1 cups brown sugar
2 1/2 cups blended oatmeal *for me, i use fine blended almond*
12 oz. chocolate chips ( i dont measure. Main taram je)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (your choice) (i didn't put this. Xde barang)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

1. Cream the butter and both sugars. 
2. Add eggs and vanilla.
3. Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. 
4. Add chocolate chips and nuts. 
5. Make your own cookie shapes.
~토끼 version, Rabbit version~

~새 version, Bird version~

6.Bake for 10 - 15  minutes at 190 degree celcius.

~Alhamdulillah!! They are done~


~Family Version (the rabbits are dad and sons, while tthe birds are mom and daugthers~!

Sepuluh hari terakhir Ramadan adalah saat di mana Rasulullah SAW meningkatkan amalan dengan berjaga malam, beriktikaf dan mengejutkan ahli keluarga untuk bersama dengannya.
Berlalunya sebahagian besar dari hari-hari Ramadan sewajarnya menimbulkan kecemasan kepada kita. Apakah selama 19 hari kita berpuasa benar-benar telah menjadikan kita manusia yang bertakwa atau sebaliknya?

Imam Bukhari dan Muslim meriwayatkan maksudnya: Aisyah r.a meriwayatkan bahawa Nabi Muhammad SAW apabila masuknya sepuluh malam terakhir (Ramadan) baginda menghidupkan malam, baginda mengemaskan kainnya dan baginda mengejutkan isterinya (yakni tidak bersama dengan isteri).

Jom ikut Sunnah Rasulullah!!

~Bolognese Pie~

Menu for today is pie~
to be precise: Bolognese pie~ NYUM, NYUM~~


It is very easy to bake a pie. u can make apple pie (my fav), pineapple pie, chicken pie (family's fav), veggie pie, shepherd pie (next time i'll share the recipe) and lots more.


Now, i would like to share on how i make the pie crust and also the bolognese it self!! Enjoy



~Bolognese Pie~
PIE CRUST:


Ingredients (bahan-bahan):

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 stick butter
    1 1/2 tablespoon 
    shortening
    1/4 cup ice 
    water (based on the condition of the dough)


  • Directions (cara-cara):
    1. Put the flour and salt into a bowl.

  • Masukkan tepung dan garam dalam mangkuk.






  • 2. Add the butter and shortening and mix until the mixture looks like grain.



  • Masukkan mentega dan shortening and gaul sampai die jadi cam pasir (cam oat or nestum gitu).



    3. Then slowly, add the water until you can form the dough.

    pastu, masukkan air perlahan-lahan sampai la jadi doh.







  • 4. Split into two pieces and wrap each dough with a plastic wrap.
    Bahagi 2 doh tu, balut dengan plastik.


    5. Chill for at least 1 hours before using it.
    Sejukkan doh tu sekurang-kurangnya selama 1 jam.


    6. After that, take it out from the fridge and let it set for 15 min. 
    Lepas tu, kuarkan dari peti ais dan biarkan selama 15 minit.


    7. Roll out one piece of the dough for the base (put it into pie crust mould) and bake it until it half cooked for 15 minute in 180 degree celcius.
    Tebarkan 1 bahagian doh tu utk dijadikan base (masukkan dalam acuan pie).
    Bakar smpi separuh masak selma 15 minit dalm 180 darjah celcius


    8. Then, put in the bolognese meat.
    Masukkan intio daging bolognese.


    9. Roll out another piece of dough and cover the bolognese. Put on some egg yolk on top of the pie before you bake.
    Tebarkan kan doh yg satu lgi untuk tutp inti. Sapu kuning telur kat atas pie sebelum bakar.


    10. Bake it in 180 degree celcius for 30 - 40 minutes until it golden brown. 
    Bakar selama 30-40 minit dalam 180 darjah smpi die jadi keemasan kuning.
    Bolognese~


    Ingredients (Bahan-Bahan):


    1 tin tomato puree
    250g minched meat
    1 tin mushroom
    1 onion
    3-5 garlic(diced)
    salt
    parsley
    mixed herb(optional)
    white pepper
    cheese(any kind of cheese)
    mixed veggie (optional)


    Directions (cara-cara):

    1.fry some onion using olive oil or butter. let soft and put in garlic.  
    tumis bwg besar dengan olive oil or butter,tggu smpi lembut then mskkn garlic.


    2.Then, put in minced beef. Let it cooked and out some salt, white pepper to taste.
    lepas tu,mskkn daging.smbil tggu die msk,mskkn garam n serbuk lada putih.


    3.Next, add in tomato puree. Let it boil, and add mushroom (with its liquid) lepas tu,msskkn tomato puree,then gaul.tggu didih sket,pastu mskkn cendawan dan airnya skali.


    4.Taste the sauce. If you get the sour taste (really sour), u can add some oyster sauce to get rid of the sour taste. 
    Rase sos tu, klu rase masam sket ke, ko letak sos tiram sket, nk kasi ilang rase masam die sket.


    5. finally, add on some mixed veggie, parsley and mixed herb. Dont put to much or you will get bitter taste. 
    akhir skali, mskkn kn mixed herb or parsley. jgn letak byk2 sebab nnti die pahit.


    *if you wanna make it thicker, u can add up some corn starch.
    *klu nk kasi pekat sket, leh je letak tepung jagung sket.

    ~Popia Sushi~

    Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,


    Popia Sushi (Sushi Spring Roll). What is that?? 
    Well, it's like a type of snack or rather we call as Kerepek. It's very popular in Sarawak (I never knew that^^).
    Ok, this popia is not really made with sushi (japanese sushi). People in Sarawak give this name to commercialized it. Which one is better POPIA SUSHI OR POPIA RUMPAI LAUT?^^
    I ate this Popia Sushi last week for the first time. It was very delicious (since i really love sushi + seaweed). It was made by K.Dayang's little sister (she is not little, she's 20, she is Adik Angkat K.Dayang<3). Her name is Nina. 


    Enough with the chat. Let us checkout the recipe:


    ~POPIA SUSHI (SUSHI SPRING ROLL)~


    Ingredients (Bahan-bahan):


    Spring Roll Wrappers
    Kulit Popia
    Seaweed Sheets (about the same size as the wrappers)
    Kepingan Rumpai Laut (lebih kurang same besar dengan kulit popia tu)
    Eggs (add up some salt and seasoning) (act as a glue)
    Telur (campur sket dengan garam dan perasa


    Directions (Cara-cara):


    1. Spread the beaten eggs over the spring roll wrapper. It act as glue to stick the two sheets.
    Sapu telur diatas kulit popia. Telur ni jadi cam gam utk lekatkan 2 keping (popia dgn rumpai laut)


    2.Then, put the seaweed sheet on top of the egg spring roll wrapper. Make sure the seaweed sheet stick properly with the spring roll wrapper.
    Pastu, letak kepingan rumpai laut atas kulit popia yang dah disapu telur. Pastikan rumpai laut tu lekat betul2 dengan kulit popia.


    3. Then, cut the spring roll wrapper that has been stick with the seaweed sheet. (based on your creativity) As for me, i cut it in 1cm x 1 cm.
    Pastu, gunting kepingan tu mengikut suke korang. kalau timah, timah potong petak 1 cm x 1 cm.


    4. Then, heat up some oil and fry it until it become crunchy. (do not over fry it) Don't let it turn brown.
    Panas kan minyak dan goreng kepingan tu. (Jangan terlebih goreng sampai hangus tau) Jangan bagi kulit popia tu jadi warna coklat.

    ~Custard Cocktail in the house~

    Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...


    This recipe is one of my family's favorite. The easiest dessert to be made. 
    When Mama said that somebody is coming to our house, the first thing that comes in my mind is What will be the dessert?
    *Light Bulb* How about custard cocktail? It's good, simple, done in a short time!! OK!!


    That's how it goes...We had custard cocktail as out desert in yesterday's iftar. 


    resipi hari ni adalah salah satu dari kegemaran keluarga timah. Pencuci mulut yang senang sgt nak buat!!
    Bile mama cakap yang ade org nak datang umah, bende pertama yang timah pikir : Pemcuci mulut ape yang kite nak buat??
    *ding,ding* Ape kate buat custard cocktail? Sedap, senang, cepat siap!! OK!!


    Camtu la kalau orang datang. Smalam kitorg makan custard cocktail time buke.


    I don't wanna babble too much. Hehehe...so, Here it goes:
    Tak nak merapu byk2 la. hehehe...ok, ni resipinya:


    ~CUSTARD COCKTAIL~


    Ingredients (bahan-bahan):


    1 carton of fresh milk (1 kotak susu segar)
    1/2 tin of sweeten beverage creamer (1/2 tin susu manis)
    1 tin of condensed milk (1 tin susu cair)
    1 tin of cocktail (1 tin cocktail)
    2 or 3 tbsp of custard powder (mix with water or milk) (2 atau 3 sudu besar tepung custard yang dicampur dengan air)
    fresh fruits (based on your choices) (Buah-buahan segar)


    Directions (cara-cara):


    1. Pour the milk, sweeten beverage creamer and condensed milk in a pot. Bring them to boil.
    Tuang susu, susu manis dan susu cair dalam periuk. Didihkan.


    2. Put in the water of the cocktail. Let it boils.
    Masukkan air cocktail Didihkan lagi.


    3. Pour in the custard powder and stir it continuously until its thicken.
    Tuangkan bancuhan custard dan gaul berterusan sampai pekat.


    4.Then, you can straightly put in all sorts of fruit from the cocktail tin and fresh fruits and cool it. OR you can cool the custard first and mix the fruits and the custard when you want to serve it.
    Lepas tu, korang boleh masukkan terus segala macam buah dalam custard tu dan sejukkan. ATAU korang sejukkan custard tu dulu, dan bile nak hidang baru campurkan dengan buah-buahan.

    P/S: Yesterday, i whined to Mama as i have to cook for so many people for iftar. I was so tired. Then, Mama said:
    "Sian anak Mama ni. Tapi kan timah. Banyak tau pahala yang timah dapat kalau jamu orang buka puasa. Best kan camtu."

    Then, i suddenly remember one of hadith rasulullah stating about this:

    Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang bermaksud: “Sesiapa yang memberikan makan kepada orang yang berpuasa, maka baginya seperti pahala (orang yang berpuasa) dalam keadaan tidak berkurung sedikitpun dari pahala orang yang berpuasa itu.” (Hadis riwayat Ahmad, Tirmizi, Ibn Majah dan ad-Darimi)

    ~Cheesecake~

    Ok!! Since it was my birthday! i would like to share the way i make my cheesecake.
    I'm so sorry, i'm so tired. so i cant make it DWIBAHASA!! ^^
    ~the cake is in the middle. The big one~


    CHEESE CAKE:


    A-
    500g cream cheese
    250g sponge mix
    100g butter(dicairkn)
    50g sugar
    6 egg yolk
    50g water

    B-
    6 white egg
    50g  sugar


    cara2:
    A-
    1.pukul cream cheese smpi die kembang.
    2.then,mskkn sponge mix.mix well.then mskkn egg yolk.mix well.
    3.after that, mskkn sugar, next, butter n lastly, water.


    B-
    1.beat  white egg n sugar smpi kembang.(die kembang tue bile kte terbalik kn
    bekas die, bahan die tue x tumpah)

    then...campurkn A+B...then mskkn lm loyang yg dh disalutkn ngan butter...
    loyang  tue kn klu boleh, letak kertas minyak,senang nk bwk kuar sbb cake nie
    fragile.or lg senang, pakai loyang yg leh bukak tepi tu.

    then,  bake using the waterbath technique(loyang yg dh ade adunan tue, letak
    dalam loyang yg besar sket yg ade air dlm die) under 180  degree(gune api bawah
    je tau) for about 50-60 minutes....

    or u can just kukus je....

    ~The first day of 21~

    Everyone (여러분)...Today, i'm turning 21. Still young.^^
    Few people keep on saying "Owh, dah tue dah budak nie"
    For me, if i think i'm young, i'm YOUNG. even when i'm in 40s or 50s. Bak kate org: BERJIWA MUDA!! ^^


    The first wish i got was at 3:52 p.m. on 4th august from Aishah: "tanjobi omedeto..hehe advance :P" 
    Thanks a lot chah!! <3

    The first call i got was at 12:56 a.m. on 5th august from Dzufar phone (thanks upa!!) but the caller was Na'im: "K.imah dah tido ek. Weehee!! Happy birthday!!....."
    Thanks for the lovely thought im!! <3

    The first birthday hug was this morning during sahur by Che Rahimi Samat. 
    Love ya so much dad!!<3

    The first birthday kiss was this morning by Dr Hafidzah Mustakim: "Tahun ni nak hadiah ape timah??" 
    What will it be??^^

    The first Birthday present was from Acik Apis: Versus:Versace perfume from Doha,Qatar. (same perfume with k.yuy!! smells good~~)

    Alhamdulillah, praise to ALLAH, Today is a wonderful, memorable, superb, marvelous, miraculous, exciting, thrilling day!! I cant thanks HIM much for letting me breathing in his air till now.

    wonderful, memorable, superb, marvelous, miraculous, exciting, thrilling:

    1. The first thing i did today after waking up from bed (after subuh) was getting ready to go to Ceramah Tok Guru . in KB. I brought along K.nim (our helper) and her daughter, Fatimah (same name, diff age). It was good for them, releasing their tension (as if they had one^^), buying something for them and their family and BONUS: They can hear precious talk from Tok Guru Nik Aziz (love it)...

    Tips: If you have helper at your home, dont treat them as maid, treat them as your family. In this case, they will not elope!!^^

    2. After that, we went to Pasar Wakaf Che Yeh to buy groceries that we want to use during preparation for iftar today. It was fun as K.nim was so excited as got a brand new Teapot with a low price. 

    Timah: K.Nim kan dah beli dah teko aritu. Ngapain dibeli lagi??

    K.nim: Yang iki utk rumah yang dibarat. Yang iku buat rumah yang ditimur.

    Fatimah: Maknya kan punya 2 rumah. Jadi males mau bawa kesana kemari barang nya. Jadi dibeli lagi la.

    Wow, after working for 8 years with me, K.Nim have 2 houses and a farm now. Alhamdulillah!!   

    Firman ALLAH:
    “DAN di antara rahmat pemberian-Nya. Dia menjadikan untuk kamu malam dan siang (silih berganti) supaya kamu berehat padanya dan supaya kamu berusaha mencari rezeki daripada limpah kurnia. Dan juga supaya kamu bersyukur.” (al-Qasas: 73)

    Kalau kite berusaha dan tawakkal mendapat apa yang kite nak selagi berlandaskan Syariat ALLAH, InsyaALLAH, ALLAH akan kuatkan kita dan bantu kita!!

    3. I got precious things from my beloved friend, Tasniim! It's not like things "THINGS"...
    for me, it's a love letter (can i say that niim^^). Precious words, Memorable words, Wonderful words, Tearful words, Touching words...T.T

    These words and thoughts (<<see her blog) are so meaningful that i can't ever ever erase it from my mind and heart..thanks a lot dear!!

    Well, now, it's my version of me and Tasniim:

    i admit it! I am so so very very TALKATIVE at that time (till now actually). 
    I remembered the first time i meet naniim when we were in standard 4 (Sorry niim, i didnt recognize you before that..what to do, you were Timid and shy, like you said..hehehe ;P) 
    I followed Mama to her home.

    Mama said: Ni umah Mak Cik Ani. Die baru pindah dari KL. Anak die tasniim, kawan timah kan?

    Timah (monologue): Tasnim mane?? ade byk tasnim kat Sri Aman. Die baru pindah dari KL. Mesti x kenal.

    Mama and i got into her house and Mak Cik Ani (Rohani) gave us a tour around the house. 

    Timah (monologue): Wah!! luasnye belakang umah die. Siap ade court badminton. Mesti best dapat men badminton. 

    It was a blurred memory since that was the only thing i remembered when i came to her house for the first time.

    Then, in standard 4, we were in the same class. Nice!! I approached her.

    Timah: Eh, awak tasniim kan? kite penah dtg umah awk aritu. rumah awk yg ade court badminton kan. Mak kite ngan mak awak kawan. Awak baru pindah dari KL kan? KL awk tinggal kat mane?

    Tasniim:.......kite pegi KL 6 bulan je sebab ayah kite sambung belajar. KL sy tinggal kat .....(I forgot her answer ;p)

    Timah: Kite dulukan penah juga tinggal kat KL tau...bla...bla...n bla...

    Tasniim: (remain silent)

    Since then, i remembered her. For me, she is the girl that had just came back from KL. I like her. 
    After that, we went to the same Secondary School and even now, we are in the same University, same campus, same block but different course and house unit. ^^

    Tasniim: Timah, igt x yang awk pakse sy masuk SMKA naim lilbanat sekali dengan awk??

    Niim, seriously, i dont remember that. But, I Thanks to ALLAH for letting you accept my "PAKSAAN" and be with me till now. ALHAMDULILLAH!! 

    Thanks a lot naniim for always be with me, bear with my nuisance, listen to my nagging and everything.
    May this ukhuwah last forever till JANNAH!! LOVE YA NIIM!!

    4. It was thrilling day. Mama and ayah invited Dr Hishamudin and wife, K.Dayang and husband, Nina (Adik angkat k.dayang) and K.mar for iftar. What should i cook?? 

    I know, Chinese Food. OK!! It was simple but lots of preparation. Alhamdulillah! the process was very smooth. 
    so, the menu were:

    broccoli and tofu soup
    steam fish Chinese style
    lemon chicken
    sharkfin and crabmeat soup
    white rice

    Alhamdulillah, i'm so happy. In a cloud 9. 
    Sonok sgt dapat jamu orang makan. 
    Mama and k.mar once said:
    "Untung sgt dapat masak utk orang, kite dapat tiap pahala org yang makan makanan kite. x kurang walau sedikit. kan best!!"

    5. Celebrating my birthday with varieties of Secret Recipe cakes with korean letters written on it. YAY!!
